Contrast Kevin’s experience at the DNC last night with David Brooks’ in-the-studio assessment on PBS last night of “lack of connection with the audience.”

Add to that Hal’s preparations for next week’s RNC.

Your experience is the one I believed was ‘true’, more than a commentator in a studio. 

Yet even PBS didn’t carry many dramatic crowd reaction shots ... we saw more intently listening people, rather than the crying or shouting ones ... and the audio feed was such that you couldn’t gauge crowd reactions accurately (couldn’t hear people yelling).
