NY Times: How to Take Better Low-Light Photos.

“Mr. Benson’s photos, particularly his early black-and-white images, are masterly studies in the use of natural light, and I wanted to ask him for tips on shooting in low-light situations. Here’s what he had to say.” Note that he’s using an older Canon full-frame, at 10 megapixels.  Lower dot pitch on the sensor, so smooth images at 1000 ISO. Using my 50D with 15 megapixels crammed on an APS-C sensor, I’d have to limit to 400 ISO to get the same sort of smoothness of image.
