SF New Mexican:  Ready your taste buds.

Green chile harvest expected to be strong. “It’s going to be a very strong season. We didn’t have disease pressure or fungal and insect issues as in years past. As long as Mother Nature cooperates for the rest of season, we will have an excellent crop.” The chile I bought from Chimayo last year was so hot, it peeled the roof of my mouth.  Gotta find some milder variety this year.  Go Chimayo rather than Hatch.  Hatch grows hybrids, Chimayo is more a traditional, ‘heirloom’ product.
