Gizmodo: The Nexus One’s Dirty Display Secret.

I think the real question is, do you need 32-bit color on a mobile phone? Nexus One apparently doesn’t see the need for it. Personally, if I’m working with a vendor who is habitually judging colors from a mobile device - I’ll take my business elsewhere.  If I’m working on a project and I’ve already got my colors sussed, I’ll drop the monitors to 16 just to speed everything up. If you’re viewing a lot of gradients, that’s when the 16/32 issue matters.  Otherwise, probably not.
