after playing a bit with 'my userland on the desktop', i figure my days as a 'news weblog' are numbered. i'd best start doing and journalling more interesting things. someday there'll be a yahoo-style directory of all the tens of thousands of news sources; you'll pick the ones you want to track. or better yet, a piece of software will create a profile from your reading/blogging habits ... in the vein of amazon's 'suggestions' ...

just slashed my middle finger open on the reynolds wrap foil-cutter. ouch. not bad; just painful. i'd post a picture, but it's dinnertime in hawaii ...

well, didn't quite get things done the way i planned. got some more lighting repaired, but some of the switches in this place are real mysteries. two sconces in the bedroom don't solve the two switches-in-the-switchplate problem. so how do you go about finding where the electrics connect to? i figure it must be some sort of rooftop mounted alien signaling device ...

i would find you some links to read, but the day's just too nice. i'm enjoying being OUT so much, i just can't sit at a keyboard.

got up early, went for a walk. a brisk 12 degrees, but no wind. ended up going for much farther than expected. had coffee under the back portale; i can't see doing much blogging today. got a ton of errands to run, and some photography supplies to get. of course, you'll have to suffer from my creations eventually, so just consider this investment time ...
