Review of ‘War Horse.’ Kevin’s take is, as usual, a great one. I will point out that at the start of WWII both the Germans and the Poles maintained and used cavalry, as well as taking advantage of equine maneuverability for hauling artillery and other military goods. Blitzkrieg had not yet been completely mechanized.

My own grandpa was a Cavalryman in the German army in World War I.  He acquired a deep love of horses that he never lost.
