NY Times: Captain’s Stearman Was Used to Train Tuskegee Airman.
“The Quys had no idea of the plane’s importance when they bought it. But a month later, Captain Quy (rhymes with sky) had an Air Force archivist track its history using its serial number. The archivist called back with surprising news: The plane had rolled off an assembly line on November 18, 1944, and had been delivered two days later to Moton Field in Tuskegee, Ala., where the airmen trained.” I sincerely hope the compensation reflects the work put into it.
