There’s something about that first day of really warm weather ... the smell of all the accumulated cruft burning off the asphalt and concrete. Bend down, put a hand on it, feel the radiating heat. A heat that has some relation to all those hot summers of my childhood, sitting on a curb. I sat down in the middle of the road for a few minutes (little traffic), cross-legged, and let my mind wander.
