Poynter: Medium buys science journalism site Matter.

Williams has said he’d like Medium to create ‘a better Twitter for long-form content,’ as Rip Empson put it in TechCrunch last month.” Of all people, as a short-but-not-short-enough-for-140-characters blogger I applaud longer form. But. Medium’s at the edge of my attention. They’ve promised posting capabilities for too long without delivering. The curated content is nice enough, but if they intend to remain a walled garden, I question the value. It feels too clubby and exclusive at present.
